How do I get access to VHG Runners Club?

VHG Runners Club is invite-only. You must receive an invitation from a club administrator to create an account. Once you receive your invitation email, follow the link to set your password and complete registration. Note: You do NOT login with Strava or other tracking providers. Those are only for linking your activity data after you're logged in.

How do I connect my activity tracking provider (Strava, Garmin, etc.)?

After logging in with your email/password, go to Profile → "Manage Provider Connections". Click "Connect" on your preferred provider (Strava, Garmin Connect, Polar Flow, or COROS). You'll see a consent modal explaining what data will be collected and how it will be used. After you consent, you'll authorize VHG Runners Club to access your activity data for display within our club community. Note: This is NOT for login - it's only for linking your activities to share with fellow club members.

What data does VHG Runners Club access from my tracking providers?

When you connect a provider (Strava, Garmin, etc.), VHG Runners Club accesses:

Your data is only visible to other VHG Runners Club members and is used solely for club activities, events, and community engagement. We never sell or share your data with third parties.

How do I revoke VHG Runners Club's access to my data?

You can disconnect any provider at any time from Profile → "Manage Provider Connections". When you click "Disconnect", you'll see a warning modal explaining what will happen to your data:

How do I download my data?

You can download all your data at any time:

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Scroll to "Data Management" section
  3. Click "Download My Data"
This will download a JSON file containing your profile, activities, event subscriptions, and all data we have stored about you. This is part of your GDPR rights to access your personal data.

How do I delete my account completely?

To permanently delete your account and all associated data:

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Scroll to "Danger Zone" section
  3. Click "Delete Account"
  4. Read the confirmation modal carefully
  5. Type "DELETE MY ACCOUNT" to confirm
Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data including activities, event subscriptions, leaderboard positions, and awards will be permanently deleted.

Why isn't my activity showing up?

Activities are automatically synced from your connected providers (Strava, Garmin, etc.). Make sure your provider account is properly connected via Profile → "Manage Provider Connections". You can also manually trigger a sync from your Profile page.

How do I join an event?

Navigate to the Events page, browse available challenges, and click "Subscribe" on any event you'd like to join. Your activities will automatically count towards event goals.

My data isn't syncing properly

Try manually syncing from your Profile page using the "Sync Activities" button. If the issue persists, try disconnecting and reconnecting your provider from Profile → "Manage Provider Connections". Contact support if problems continue.

Is my data secure and private?

Yes! VHG Runners Club is registered as a Community Application with Strava and follows strict data protection guidelines:
